Superintendent Search
It doesn't matter it the new superintendent is from in state or out of state. The new superintendent should be innovative, creative, honest and willing to work for what is "best" for teachers, students and the community. He or she should be willing to hire from our pool of qualified teachers who have been blocked for years from moving into administration. We need to hire someone who hires the best qualified not their "best friend."
We need a strong individual who can stand solid against controversy and adversity. The busing and choice issues will bring angry and vocal parents to the forefront. We need someone who can visualize the big picture and not give in to the voices of a few.
We need someone to support our board and our teachers. We need an ethical, honest, dedicated and intelligent candidate. Our candidate should also understand Florida law and policy. Lee County does not have the luxury of waiting for a candidate to grow into being a strong leader. We need someone fast and furious out of the gate. Someone who earns every raise and incentive given to them. We need someone who cares about the direction of this district. Someone who can balance a budget without contemplating future incentives and perks. We need a candidate who is committed to this district for the long term. We need stability and trust restored to this community.
